Janet is a Certified Specialist in Environmental Law by the Law Society of Upper Canada. Her advice is widely sought on a variety of environmental matters for her practical approach to resolving complex matters. Janet has both a Canadian and an American law degree and studied international law in London, England. She is listed as a Repeatedly Recommended expert in L’Expert for Environmental Law. Over the past 21 years, she has given advice on a wide range of environmental law matters. She advises clients on corporate, commercial and real estate business transactions, financings and insolvencies including advice on minimization of environmental liabilities for corporations, officers and directors and negotiation of environmental representations, warranties and indemnities. She also give advice in relation to risk management measures for legacy contaminated sites and Brownfield redevelopment, sustainability, LEED, and green energy issues, as well as defense of environmental prosecutions, administrative orders and civil litigation involving environmental issues. Janet has successfully concluded a significant carbon offset agreement in British Columbia.
