Welcome to the
National GreenBuilding Conference
November 28 - 29, 2007
Metro Toronto Convention Centre
South Building
The
National GreenBuilding Conference will
be held on November 28-29, 2007 concurrently with the 19th annual Construct Canada, PM
Expo, HomeBuilder & Renovator Expo, DesignTrends, and Concrete
Canada, Canada largest design and
construction event at the Metro
Toronto Convention Centre South Building.
Approximately, 50% of green house
gas emissions come from buildings and associated activities in
Canada. The increasing pressures to reduce green house gas
emissions, rising energy
costs, and a growing global interest and demand for efficient,
responsible growth and development are fuelling the trend towards
green building and design and have reinforced the need for a
stronger focus on sustainability.
The significant growing interest in
greening new and existing buildings has gone well beyond any
government policy commitment to the Kyoto protocol and climate
change. It is increasingly being seen as a practical and
financially viable strategy to provide more energy efficient,
environmentally enhanced, and higher performance buildings.

Be Part of Another Unique Zero Waste Event!
Two years ago, The Natrional GreenBuilding Conference / Construct Canada / PM Expo / HomeBuilder & Renovator Expo / Design Trends / Concrete Canada was the first major trade show in Canada to be a zero waste event.
With the joint cooperation of attendees, exhibitors and Convention Centre staff, a 95% diversion rate was achieved for all waste associated with the Show. By recycling 11.89 MT of paper fibres alone, we were able to save 238 trees, 29.24 cubic yards of landfill space, 4280 gallons of water, 1189 gallons of gasoline, 713 lbs of air pollutants, and 123668 kwts. of electricity.
With the sponsorship of Brookfield LePage
Johnson Controls, our 2007 Show will be produced as a zero waste event. We
will, once again, dramatically reduce the amount of recyclable materials
that enters our landfill sites.
Be sure to use all recycling bins (paper, bottles,
plastic & cans, and food waste) throughout the Convention Centre. Your
assistance will help us collectively achieve our goal!
